We are a small team dedicated to guiding you in your use of technology for learning and teaching. We look after Falmouth University’s online Learning Space (VLE) and provide a range of resources and activities to enable you to enhance your practice through use of technology.

Based in Tremough Barton Cottage 8 on the Penryn Campus, our team is made up of a group of Learning Technologists and we all have individual specialisms and research interests; ranging from Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration, Community Driven and Open Learning Initiatives, Social Media, Analytics and Game Based Learning. If you have a learning project in mind and would appreciate some input with regards to implementation of technology, please drop us a line.

Part of what we do is horizon scanning, so we are aware of current developments and trends within the field and more widely technology in general. We’re always interested in your ideas in this area and willing to discuss, advise and demonstrate learning technology either in your work space or at our offices.

We make sure that we’re always available to talk to face to face as well as through telephone and email, details of where to find a member of ET on campus are available here.

We recommend a consultation once a term. This is a chance for your team to discuss ways of enhancing both your teaching experience and the students’ learning experience. Prior to consultation, a member of ET will have explored your online material and may suggest course design improvements, user experience tips, or alternative tools.

The consultations have proven beneficial as both an exchange of ideas and as an opportunity for ET to learn a great deal about the differing requirements of Falmouth University’s departments. We provided thirteen consultations last term and are confident that the process has been beneficial to those managing the courses, as well as Educational Technology.
